James Hochmuth

Technical Instructor

James Hochmuth joined Rolex in 2023, following eight years as a watchmaker with an Official Rolex Jeweler in Connecticut and Colorado. Before embarking on his professional watchmaking journey, Hochmuth spent 20 years serving in the U.S. Navy. During his distinguished career as an Electronics Technician, he traveled the world, spending nine years at various overseas commands, three years as an electronics instructor, and more than a decade as a supervisor and mentor serving with honor, courage, and commitment.

After retiring from the Navy, Hochmuth seized the opportunity to pursue his passion for watchmaking hands-on, attending the Lititz Watch Technicum and benefiting from expert instructors whose guidance inspired him to keep learning and to share his passion with others. As an educator, James enjoys assisting students in discovering their own passion for watchmaking while upholding the integrity and high standards necessary for success. He believes this is the key to finding personal fulfillment in a career in watchmaking.
