Tyler Poso’s interest in watches goes all the way back to his childhood, when he began collecting inexpensive watches of all kinds. After working as a 911 dispatcher for some time, he rekindled that old passion and decided to pursue watchmaking as a more sustainable career path. He worked first as a service watchmaker and then as a technical supervisor, overseeing teams of watchmakers servicing multiple brands’ watches.

But ever since he first started his watchmaking education, Poso knew he eventually wanted to return to that part of the industry. He has always focused on helping other people and spreading his passion for watches, so becoming an instructor was a natural choice. He is particularly interested in the intersection of theory and practice, and he enjoys the special moments such as escapement assembly when things click into place and a watch starts working. Those almost magic moments are when the hard work pays off.
